There’s wonderful things that the staff did for my loved ones, but the thing that I was most impressed with was what they serve to their residents. Shane said they used to be plant based and just recently transitioned over to the MIND diet (specialized menu for Alzheimer’s/Dementia patients).

They have the best birthday parties! The team made pineapple cupcakes, mocktails that were themed and all the staff decorated the house! It’s little things like this that makes me appreciate Jazba Care. My aunt has been staying there for 6 months, and she is nearly unrecognizable! She’s moving around a-lot better, she’s really pleasant and happy and she loves the painting that she does nearly everyday! Very cool place. They have a large team and there is always a happy staff to greet you. Owner is always around the three or four homes, and GM is always around and each house has a house manager. There isn’t and board and care that has anything like this around. This is definitely the best care home. I tour 6 larger facilities (assisted livings) and about 8 or 9 board and care- and there was nothing that came close to the diet and program to Jazba Care. Well done!

My first impression was amazing! Everything from the type of care my family received to my own personal experience of working with the staff has been so seamless. I noticed the staff have fostered strong relationships with the resident and I feel confident my family will be properly cared for while in this facility.

Our family had the good fortune to find Jazba Care and I am so grateful. Mom had been living in a senior community with assisted care, but a fractured foot caused her to “fall between the cracks” in the continuum of care. Post foot fracture, she was wheelchair-bound–so couldn’t reside in her 2nd floor apartment in case of fire–but she was otherwise healthy, so not appropriate for skilled nursing or the dementia unit. Off to investigate other options I went. When I found Jazba Care and met Shane and her staff, I knew it was all going to be OK – for Mom, and for our family.

There are places that take care of your loved ones’ physical needs, and Jazba Care does a great job at that, but I wanted something more for Mom. I wanted a place where they would care for Mom’s spirit as well as her body and a team that would work with me to ensure the highest possible quality of life for Mom for the remainder of her life. I got all that and more at Jazba Care.

Unless your loved one needs a very fancy place to live, I would unreservedly recommend Jazba Care. The people are great, the food is good, they allow you to do “special” things like bring in favorite foods and flowers, and whenever there are medical issues, they are on top of it. (Shane–not the geriatric physician–was the one who figure out that my Mom was suffering from UTIs. What a world of difference that made to Mom and all of us.) And, as Mom approached end of life, Jazba got us set up with a terrific hospice called Interim.

Shane started in this business to care for seniors and help give them a great final chapter in life. What she doesn’t realize is that she also allows the loved ones to feel at ease while going through a final chapter with their parent. Thank you Shane!

We had the best experience with Jazba Care. They have a holistic approach and whoever possible they will creatively figure out how to accomplish goals without medications. Our loved one went to three difference assisted living communities. One was in SF and we had to move her because she kept falling. They we had her go to a memory care because she was diagnosed with dementia. She kept falling there and we felt they didn’t have the proper staffing. We increased our budget thinking that the issue. We found Shane through our friend Mike, that had his wife in her care. She come over to the house to see if she could help. She didn’t even feel our mom was going to be a good fit because we couldn’t get passed the shared rooms. We only wanted a private room. Shane patiently listened, but estentially said her home leveraged the social concept and none of her residents are ever in their rooms. They participate apart of the house to feel purposeful. All of her residents are are grouped together based on their care needs and where they are on their memory impairment journey. She was so knowledgeable and incredibly passionate. She said she was help figure out how she can help for mom. She referred us to a few homes that had private rooms and we eventually ended at Jazba Care in College Glen. In hindsight we wished we would of just took her advice, because everything that she predicted happened. So do yourself a favor and let the professionals handle it. I was overly impressed with her philosophy and how she created a space for people like my mom. My mom is happier and she constantly is apart of the house. She’s “teaching” art classes and helping set the table. I visit twice a week without fail, and everytime I’m there she’s basically saying I have to go because “it’s her time to go to class.” Jazba care is a Gem and it should be what other people are doing. There’s so many staff and people and they always have an night shift person which is great for my mom because she fell twice before she moved into Jazba trying to use the restroom herself. I would absolutely recommend this home and the other residents are wonderful and it’s amazing what she has done for my mom and my mom is absolutely more aware and happy. I’m grateful to their team and I don’t find myself worrying.

The staff is very professional. I really had good experience with them. They are treating the residents as their family members. The food is amazing and the activities they do, is helping residents to stay always busy and improve themselves.

They are our blessing and my grandfather’s as well

I went to three different assisted living places for my mom and this was the only place and documented anything! They took notes of what they ate and how much did they eat, drink, sleep. Everything is kept track of and it wonderful they practice Ayurvedic techniques. I’m so glad there are places that believe in the holistic practices instead of medications.
